Default From Rags To Riches.

Originally, I Decided against posting this here because I figured that some wouldnt understand the situation that I was in and would do nothing but flame. Now, I just could give two ***** less looking back on it because it seems like there wasnt much I could of done.

About a month ago, I was involved in an accident on highway L34 in Iowa. I was riding with a group of about 10 riders and werent doing too much hard cornering due to some blind corners on the road. One of those blind corners is what really fucked me over. There was a left hand turn that the apex of the turn came over the crest of a hill. Off to the right there was a blind dirt driveway. The night before it had rained a good amount and whoever came out of that driveway, drug a bunch of mud into the road. About 15 seconds before I came into the turn, the leader of the group was the first one to go into the ditch. By time I came through the turn, he crawling out of the ditch waving riders to be warned. I had seen his warning but was already in the path of the mud. Didnt want to lean into it because it would of came out from under me, so I tried getting on the brakes enough to slow down without losing control. I hit the ditch close to 60mph, my bike followed the same path as his, hit his, flipped 3 times in air, landed on the rear subframe and crammed 8 inches of mud into my exhaust. I put my left foot on my seat and jumped the second I entered the ditch, which looking back, really saved me alot of pain and suffering. I I walked away with nothing more than a 2 foot scratch/bruise combo down the left side of my body and a massive headache.

Pics.

Fast forward to now.

I did the initial teardown on the bike, started going crazy and ordering things, putting myself in debt since this was my only form of transportation at the time. I finally recieved the last of the backordered parts that are NEEDED for the bike, and only have a couple little carbon pieces left to get, otherwise, I have recieved everything else and I am stoked to get it back out on the road. Alot of the stuff is cosmetic **** that broke in the accident so had to be replaced anyways, so I figured aftermarket would be a good replacement

As of this time tomorrow, the transformation of the 600RR will be taking place. Coming back stronger than ever from the recent unfortunate events.

Here is the Mods that will be on it (A couple backordered for a bit)

The wear pattern on your rear tire probably had something to do with it

At any rate your rebuild sounds pretty sick, looking forward to pics. What do you mean by HRC bodywork?

What Chris Said Above.. ^^^^

Pretty sure they just mean OEM Honda Plastics though.

Yeah, Wear pattern on tire is definately not helping, but I daily my bike so yeah. Over 8200 miles on the clock since I got it.

glad you're okay but it's sad to know that you think there is nothing you could have done to avoid the accident. i hope that you learned to not go so fast on a road you don't know.

knowing the ever changing environment is key to surviving.

Good luck with the rebuild. It looks like it's wide open there though, not a blind corner.

It hurts to see a blue/silver 07 wrecked. I am glad that you are rebuilding it though. Since the bue/silver is the rarest color, and the only two wrecked 07's I have seen are blue/silver bike, does that make my bike in more rare? Just kidding. Your bike will be nice.

funny joke about the blue and silver... lol. there is 10 I counted here in Omaha with the same color scheme. VERY FEW white ones and let alone with the vinyl kit, won't be silver... white and black baby!
ordered some new gear today to replace the stuff that was trashed in the accident. ill have pics of that stuff up when I get to my comp.. (on my palm phone)

sorry to hear, i think i rode with you one day over about 30miles west oh Omaha "highway 31?" anyway man i useto see you on that bike all the time thinking "wow what a beautiful bike!" that road you were on,

Im no longer living in Omaha but there is a GREAT place to ride over in Iowa.

Get on the Bridge leaving Omaha over to Iowa ---> W-Broadway go down until you see Kmart on the right, make a L there. then go down about 1 or 2 miles, make your first L thats the road no blind turns, clean & fun

I have some updated pictures of the progress. The bike has been torn down to damn near nothing right now. Alot more was damaged than originally thought so I had to order some more parts that put it on hold for a day or two.

I will have the pictures up as soon as I can get to a computer that can read my SD card.
