Axle Question
My girlfriend just had her axles replaced about a month ago.
Now my question is what could cause the new boot to crack?
The boot that cracked is the passenger side closest to the wheel.
Could the car be too low?
Could she be going over speed bumps to hard?
Can I just replace the boot and not the entire axle?
Thanks.

If you catch it early enough, usually, but that's doubtful - you're better off just replacing the whole axle.

Most auto parts stores have warranties on the axles they sell.
As to your question about how the boot may rip, there are a few causes. The grease inside the axle can vaporize and cause pressure against the boot. DSS solved this problem by adding a vent to release that pressure. Road debri can also hit the boot and tear it that way.
It is possible to replace just the boot, but who says the axle wasn't damaged when their was nothing to keep the grease around the joint.
