Default Newb here with a QUESTION.

Hey i drive a 2004 S2000 bone stock and I was told today that there is a way to start my car with the valet key (the key i have that doesnt have the chip in it) by performing some type of startup sequence.... Is this true??

um isnt the purpose of a valet key to open and start the car but you cant use it to open the glove box or trunk. my valet key starts my car without a sequence

The purpose of a valet key is to start the car. I'm almost positive that the owner's manual covers this. Almost.

I'm almost positive you got confused with a "blank key" looks weird and naked. Only opens the doors/trunk. If you try to start it... your ecu will go in safe mode and you'll have to tow it to the dealer and re-do the ECU.

I don't think the vallet key opens the trunk, that would be stupid. Hypathetically speaking if you had something valuable in your trunk a vallet drive could steal it. Im almost certain it will only unlock the doors and start the car. If you lock your glove box you can't gain access to the trunk release button, so why would the trunk open with the vallet key?
