I just picked up a bare bones '93 Honda Civic. Had no factory stereo and there is no Antenna cable routed throught the Antenna channel into the vehicle (luckily they had the speaker wiring...

Speakers are in but I need to route the antenna - anyone have a suggestion? The "stiff wire" I've got (some grounding wire from an old Satellite install) goes down about 3 feet and just stops. I was hoping the channel just opened up somewhere near the baseboard but doesn't appear to do so.

The manual I've got has no details other than "You might be able to use the old antenna cable by tying a line to it and pulling the old antenna out." Great advice if there were an old cable -

Anyone have some guidance? I'd REALLY appreciate it. Would love to avoid an internal antenna.

 

go buy a universal one and it will have everything you need or go to the dealer and order that part.

 

Thanks, I have the Antenna and cable (it's a generic but designed for the '93 Civic / Del Sol)- it's the routing through the Antenna channel that is the issue.

I can't figure out how to route the Antenna cable into the car...

Bought a 10' wire to start fishing.. found a hole under the dashboard in the frame that looks purposefully open and seems to be in line with the antenna channel, but no luck getting anything down into that hole so far.

Thanks again for the reply, but could anyone perhaps take a look at where their antenna cable is comin out under the dashboard and tell me if I'm going after the right hole?
