Default best slicks/racing wheels

i am gonna get some slicks and racing wheels for my eclipse as soon as i get the turbo kit, and my friend andrew (ridnmyhonda) is gonna get some too for his teggy when he gets his laughing gas. we were wondering what size of slick seems to be working best and what wheels are good for a good compromise between weight and cost. i am gonna have around 350 hp at the crank and he will have about 210 at the crank.

ok im assuiming yours isnt an AWD.
at 350flywheel hp, your at about high 200'sHP. i'd try a 24.5x8.5x13 slick.(M&H)
you can go with a 25x8x13M&H (which will be out soon) also.

your friend shoudl be in the high 100HP. He would be good to start of with a 22x8x13 slick and should last him til he's in the 230hp to the wheels 270 to the crank.

I have heard that those wheels are dangerous because they have a tendancy to seperate or something, have you had any problems?

i'll find a link, but on the second gen eclipse non-turbo site all of the guys said that they are too flimsy and not strong enough, therefor they have been outlawed in some places because they are a safety hazard..

anyways, how much could you get me some cheap and light wheels for some slicks? i am looking to spend about 400-500 total for slicks and wheels, is that possible?

I don't think those 2g Eclipse guys are right. I'm pretty sure the Lensos don't even fit 2g Eclipses with their 5 x 114.3 bolt pattern. So how would they know if they can't even run it? I personally haven't heard anything bad about them and I see them all over the track. I just got a pair off Wil too.

the main reason people were using other brands was that M&H was hard to get before. But they still have the best compound for the average racer.

For bigger sizes, M&H is still manufacturing the import sizes at this time and thats why the PRO class cars are using/prefer the other brands.

But if you need those M&H's I have many sets in stock. so just hit us up if you ever need them.

Thanks
Wil

Lensos would be the cheapest wheels. but you have a DSM? there is no lug pattern for that car on the LEnsos. the other option would be BOGARTS.
they run at about $249 each.

the 24.5x8.5x13 M&H are about $179 each.

i've seen some of those 20+ lbs steel 13inch wheels back in the day before BOGARTs became popular.
but its been along time since I've seen them around.

m&h makes the best compound for slicks 25" tall and under.

yeah, we just started stocking the new 27x8x15 and the 27x9x15 for those who dont want to step up to 28's yet.

its a good in between size slick.

for 25" and under, M&H has 24.5, 25 and 22's
