Default need help with small slicks

I am running 20X6 14's I used these when my car was all motor and now I have the turbo setup and I am having problems. Anyone else running these slicks? Do I have to run tubes in them? I was having a problem spinning valve stems, so I put rim screws in and I am not spinning them anymore but I am still getting flats. When I took them to get them fixed and the guy thought that the tube rubbed over on itself and rubbed a hole.

This never happens when i am making a run, I always notice it on my way back to the pits. Do I have to run the tubes? Any ideas

I'd step up to a bigger slick. the 6"ers are too small for a turbo setup. Step up to a 22x8x13 and that size should last you for awhile.

guarantee you that you'll run better times with a more reliable slick than the 20x6's.
those are good to start with but doesnt hold that great once youre really doing more modifications to your motor.

good luck

I don't run tubes in my 20x6x14 on steelies or 20x8x14's on 14x6 rims.

Sure the slicks lose air, all rubber tires do! I usually only have to air them up before leaving the house and they are fine for all day at teh track. I usually put in 20 psi when leaving the house, make first pass at 13-14 psi cold, then rest of day at 12-13 psi warm.

6 inch slicks are like the donuts in your trunk!! LOL. doesn't take much to over power them..

i've even hit 1.75's on the 22x8x14's. but they are so inconsistent on 60 fts below 1.8's its more of a 1.8 60ft kinda tire. like I said before, its easy to overpower these small slicks.
