Default how to remove pine sap.

ok so yeah i parked under a damn pine tree. and now there is little dropplets all over my car.
how the hell do i get this off. i highly doubt regular washing will do the trick. this **** is sticky as hell.

lacquer thinner or any sort of adhesive remover. Wouldn't hurt to wax the area after.

yeah use **goo gone** then after wash the car real good with car soap not dish soap then give it a good waxing

Use Goo Gone to free it up, but when it's off, wash the area thoroughly. Goo Gone can strip down clearcoat, when given a long enough time.

i could tell anyone how to remove anything but its worthless because its all dealership industrial products. but if anyone can find dry cleaner it works amazing and pretty much anything

Apparently not with your magical clay. Pine pitch, which can speckle your car will be removed with clay, but a big glob of pine sap will not.

nope, we use it on brand new cars at the dealership, takes most bug,bird damage and rail dust off

rub the the tree sap with a piece of Ice......then when it is good and cold it will come right off.........

I actually had that pull a chunk of clearcoat off with the sap. This was on a previous car, with unknown paint conditions, though.

damn i started i good thread i guess. lol. well i ended up using brake cleaner sprayed on a towel, came right off, didnt f up the clear. itll def need a waxing though.

It's funny that out of all the posts here, you went and did something that wasn't recommended once.

Brake cleaner can very easily damage the clear coat permanently.

At least you got the sap off.

i mean i did use alot. its fine. i may have put some swirl marks in it, but whatever its just a civic.

i've used rubbing compound before on my PC, followed up M83, M80, then M21. expensive though, lols.

go and buy some bug/tar/sap remover there are pleny of products out there made for this purpose that do not hurt your paint. just wax after you use them.

I remember when I was a kind I got sap in my hair... talk about sticky , I don't want to even imagine trying to get it off my car.
