are d series/b series vtec solenoids the same?

I just bought a gsr head and it doesn't have the vtec solenoid. Are they all the same, or do I have to get one only from a b series motor?

they are not the same, but you can interchange b and d's. i think only obd1 sohc;s only but im not sure .
vtec pressure switch is pointed different ways on b ad d's

something like 92-97 d16z6s will work on the b series
