I have a d15b vtec motor. my check engine light came. my car was running fine and then it just stayed on. i got home and read the code. it read 21 or vtec control solenoid. where is that exactly and how do i fix it. i would appreciate it if someone could give me pics.

 

VTEC Control Solenoid, is just as it sounds; there is an issue with the VTEC Solenoid itself or there is an issue with the wiring. The solenoid is located (when looking from the exhaust side of the motor) in the left hand corner of the head next to and above the intake manifold.

 

YEAH MAKE SURE THAT IT IS WIRED CORRECTLY.........

 

WOULDNT HURT TO PULL IT OFF AND CLEAN THE SCREEN WITH BRAKE CLEAN...

 

i reset everything. its coo now. lol. but when i was going to the gym today it kinda started overheating. I need to change the thermstat. fix one thing another one breaks. i guess thats how thing work.
