smoke at 5000 rpm?

When i get to around 5000 rpm + my car will pour out black smoke. what could cause this? me and a couple friends think its the piston rings, its a b18a1 we did a rebuild but didnt change the rings

black smoke is gas are u sure its black? are u using the stock injectors or what
