I love my EXO-400 and want to get a 700 soon great helmet. There is nothing wrong with Icon's they are just rebadged HJC helmets. I would try both on and just get what ever fits you best and is the most comfy

thanks for the input, i read up some more last night and found out that the icon mainframes are a bad choice for a helm since the visors pop off alot and real easily. any of you guys/gals where glasses? hows that working for you with the helm on?

^ word thats a good deal. I wear glasses with my EXO 100% of the time just put the helmet on first and then glasses, shouldn't have a problem with any helmet and glasses.

I went down on my icon helmet really hard i mean head hitting pavement it served me well im still here. I have a picture let me find it.I Think the Icon mainframe versions is a great helmet for the price. Next helmet will be a X-11 now that i can afford it.

You pretty much get what you pay for. The EXO700 isnt bad but there is better. If you only have $250 to spend then I think that the EXO700 would be your best choice. You can try ebay for better deals. AGV stealth's are going for $215 shipped.

I know the sizes for AGV helmets are a different from others so make sure you size everything up right. My friend got his Shoei RF-1000 on ebay for $250 and thats what im using right now. Great helmet. Feels good, rides great, little wind noise, good vents. If you wanna save up some more I know that you can get a Suomy Extreme on ebay for $450. Or the AGV Ti-Tech's go for around $300.

Like I said though. You get what you pay for.

As far as getting what you paid for, I would believe that is true as far as comfort and amenities go, but safety is generally the same.

Its the latest model thats coming out and its their top of the line model. I had a chance to see one in person and it has a lot of cool new features to it that no other helmets have. But eveything on it felt cheap and not of good quality. Like the vents were made of thin plastic that made it seem like if you lightly bumped it on something they might break. The cheek pumps made the helmet fit snug and the rep there said it helped to keep down wind noise. The inner lense was a nice touch to the helmet as it was tinted to keep the sun out of your eyes, but then you could flip it up and then you still have a clear lense for better vision. One thing I forgot to add was that the lenses on the EXO's and AGV's are anti fog as for some other companys like Shoei, HJC, Icon, and KBC are not. I dont remember how the inner lining was on the 400/700 but on the 1000 it was soft and felt good. Some of the best lining ive felt so far are the AGV Ti-Techs, Suomy Extreme's, and Sharks.

So comparing the 1000 to the 400/700, its pretty much got the same stuff as the others just with a couple more added features. But its like that with all helmet companys. The higher priced model has the better features and they get more aerodynamic for more of a race style.

Go down to your nearest Cycle Gear or whatever there is in your area and try on as many different brands and sizes that you can. No two helmets fit your dome the same. I wear a small AGV, but medium or large Shoei and medium Arais, so you just dont know !!

to get a 20% discount from cycle gear just go to your local DMV and pick up a motorcycle study guide and in the back pages is a coupon for it.
