car turns off when i try to adjust idle speed.
hey,,, i have a 97' teg. B18B. i got the valve lash adjustment and after i had a crazy idle. i tried to adjust the idle speed, and when i uncliped the connecter from the IAC my teg just turned off. i tried it twice. now i have a crazy idle and it feels like it wants to turn off. mostly when im at a stand still. latter i my engine light came up,, it was code 14- Electronic Air Control. any ideas.. thanks
Helms says after disconnecting IAC valve, to start the engine with the accelerator pedal slightly depressed. Stabilize the rpm at 1,000 then slowly release the pedal until the engine idles. With no load and IAC disconnected, idle speed should be 480 plus/minus 50 RPM. Hope that helps some

Have you checked the ignition timing before trying to set the idle? Turn the idle adjustment screw CCW a few turns to allow more air into the engine. This should help it idle. The car is also supposed to be warm with all lights and accessories turned off.
