How does the stick shift angle?
I checked out a CRX today and the shift stick angle kind of weird. Instead of it angle back at the rear, it was forward. Is this normal? Also I think it have a short shifter.
Car is a 1988 CRX.

if its like my civic, the angle should point to the back of the car. someone probably unbolted the shifter from the shift rod underneath and spun the shifter around.

Um no, If you have ever taken a stock shifter out it is the same both ways. it is straight.
To the OP does the car have a swap, if so the linkage might be home made and the stick sits weird because they made the linkage too long.
And the obvious question is, was it in 1st 3rd or 5th gear? if so, yes it will be forward

The shifter was in neutral. Car is basically stock.

I'm no doctor House, but I'd be looking at the fore and aft trans mounts, and also shifter mounts and bushings... but who knows, maybe its an aftermarket installed backwards.

Yeah, I was hoping that someone installed it backward.

Lol mine is the same way. I have short shifter (single bend) with a b16 swap with custom hasport linkage (which is too short). I installed the shifter backwards after I had to redo the linkage 'cuz the tow truck driver let it drag for 13 miles...

apparently, crx and hatch shifters are different, because mine is stock and angles to the back(the section that is in the car anyways). i have a dx with the 5 speed. my bad for trying to help.
