My d16a6 is running a little bit strange lately.

Has had a full tune up.

Here are the symptoms:

Its hard to start and flooding the engine entirely on occasion after warm. Spark plugs are covered in fuel. Occasionally will bog when going through the gears around 3-4k rpms.

It typically is only hard to start after driving it around and then waiting 5-10 min and then trying to start it back up.

The car has crazy high mileage (253k) so I started to wonder if the injectors are leaking internally and draining down into the cylinders when the car sits after driving.

SO my question is how long should it normally take for the fuel rail to de-pressurize after shutting the car down. I'm looking for a fairly specific time.

I want to hook up my fuel pressure gauge and monitor the rail and see how quickly it leaks out.

I have never stood there and looked but it holds the pressure for quite awhile I would say at least an hour or so before it goes to 0. just take the rail off and look to see if the injectors are leaking

 

check the injector seal rings

there are 3 one o ring on top
one in between injector and other
but intake hole for injector

if i were u remove fuel rail
and check injector filter

may be broken or o ring which is green when oem

is cooked

replace and clean injector

psi should be 27 psi

 

When you guys remove the fuel rail and keep the injectors still in it, what do you typically use to hold the injectors in when you prime the fuel system?

Last time I tried that they just pop out because of the pressure

 

start from one injector to the next and pull the sonsor off wile the car is running. and listin to here if the car sound changes if the car sound dosent change on one of your injectors something is wrong with that one.

liek once u pull the sensor off the injector the RPMs shoudl drop meaning everythings good. now if it stayes the same on one of em. thats the bad one...
