Does this sound like a transmission problem?

i have an automatic 97 integra LS and lately its been actin crazy on me. When i start it up it runs for a lil while and then will suddenly die out. It starts right back up but when i go to put it into gear it will die out again. I was at the light about to accelerate when suddenly the car started jerking and the rpm went from 3 to below 0 and died. it shifts late and im not really getting the power i had before. i know it has something to do with the transmission but im not sure what part exactly. if you have any idea please let me know by email at crazydragon_2007@yahoo.com
