Believe it or not, those are very good prices for Takata harnesses. Even though they still cost more than 1.5 times what I paid for my Sparcos...

Takata makes seat belts for honda. Look at your seat belt next time you get in your car. It should say Takata co. on the tag.

Why are they so pricey?

I can't imageine they are that much better than the Sparco, Sabelts, etc etc.....I mean all the F1 cars I have been around had sabelts in them.

I'm not flaming...just trying to understand!

Ciao'

The largest problem with the Takata harnesses is that they do not have an SFI approval on them, so they are not legal in any sanctioning organization that I am aware of.

Strange, I was watching some for of motorsports awhile back and did see a driver with the Takata harness - I remember because I didn't think I'd see one. Sorry, can't remember who or in what series...

The seatbelts are probably one of the 5% parts deal, ya know how they make a few parts here for gov't reasons.....maybe thats why the canadians ones are made there.

You must have a fake ITR then, b/c the belts should say Takata as Paul Walker mentioned.

WTF, a Mazda Protege5 has Takata belts too I'm pretty sure.

They are FIA approved, you can see the FIA certification on each strap.

Takata harnesses are commonly used in F3, not just in Japan but also UK, France, etc. Also in F3000 too
