Im going to have a shop to a custom exhaust for my civic. I plan on doing 2.25in piping with a ES tuning muffler. My goal for the exhaust is something that will still give some low to mid end torque/power. What size resonator should I use to achieve this, and are there anyother things that can be done?

 

Resonator size , as far as i know, isnt a large determinator in power compared to piping diameter and muffler design. Any standard sized one should do you just fine.

hows it sound? Im looking for a deep throaty sound, will this do it?

 

an exhaust isnt going to give you any noticeable power. especially one that size. get the biggest resonator you can fit under there, which is usually 22'' in length.

 

You could also run a Dynomax race series bullet muffler as your resonator, It is real nice and deep and just takes out the nasty sounds, and its only like $31

 

The bigger the resonator, the deeper the tone and less fart/rip.raspyness there is.
