I hope that goes well. I love the idea of the Atom and I've seen some at a few NASA events and at ITR Expo.
The ITR Expo does a lot to boost the long term support of the DC2 ITR and helps to elevate the camaraderie among a small group of Honda-Tech aficionados.
I hope your Atom Fest does the same thing!
Is there an all-Atom racing series anywhere?

That's odd, why remove it at all.
Threadjack:
Anyhow, if you like Atoms, Dennis Palatov is very nearly ready to start up his Atom... the one with the Hayabusa-based 380hp V8 (10,000rpm!) See it at http://www.dpcars.net.

I would enjoy driving one of those. Seems like it would be a riot on the track. Maybe that is why I think a 7 clone would be fun too.

You should read the GRM article. If you want an open-wheel dedicated track car, there might be a cheaper way to do it.
A lot messier, and not as pretty...but cheaper.

I like the Atom, and my hat's off to the styling, very outside-the-box. However, the difficulty of registering it and its expense makes it unlikely they'll sell lots of them. OTOH, you can make a Locost, or <cough> buy my book <cough> and design and build something yourself that costs half as much, is just as fast, and you'll know every inch of it.
kurt, the OP is doing an MR mini a little like yours. IIRC, they're planning on using a K20 and, yes, I forwarded them a link to your fabulous book.
I too lilke the styling of the Atom over the Locost even if it is $50-60K more expensive.
Although I think I would want one with the Honda K series instead of the Ecotec engine.

I have a question about this car. So apparently since we live in the states we a get a GM engine, well what if we want the K series, is there any way to order it like that, or order it without an engine as a kit version so we can add our own engine? Also how much is it typically with everything?
for reference, here's a fun track:

Here you are guys and gals! This is the near final draft of the daily schedule for AtomFest. It will be printed in the official Event Programs in text and bar graph formats and accompanied by event descriptions and maps of the Hallett facility. Note that there are many overlaps of activities, especially with regard to lapping sessions. Please plan carefully if maximum laps is your thing. A caution to those for whom this will be the first track experience. The Atom will wear you out! Don't feel compelled to run in every possible session. Moderation is a good thing when dealing with such an extreme car. If you haven't driven you car on the track, you don't really know it's limits (or yours), no matter how hard you think your street driving has been.
