Will a d16 Motor Work with a 90 Hatch DX Transmission?
I was wondering if I would have to swap out the transmission as well since there is a fairly significant hp difference between the motors. I don't want to put the motor in and then tear through my transmission and have bad synchros in 6 months.
Any help is appreciated.

Wow you just screwed yourself over. The dx tranny won't even bolt into the d16 motor. The d16 has too much power for that tranny. Just thrash your car and start over... just kidding it should bolt up. You don't need a different tranny but if you want better acceleration you should get a si tranny, and maybe while you have your tranny apart from the engine get a new clutch.
A d16 makes about 105 hp, stock, I think. The DX motor makes about 90 hp. Not a big difference. Your car will feel faster with the Si tranny.
Or you can switch the final drive of the transmission since the DX and Si trans have same gear ratio just different final drives.
