Default 96 Integra Door Alignment... HOW?

HT,

I just bought a 96 Integra and when i open the door, the door has about a quarter inch play where the door can shift slightly up and down. When I close the door, the door latch/striker/whatever hits and I can tell the door is slightly misaligned. It's not a big deal when the door is closed. How can I fix this problem? Any advice?

Jo

Take off the fender, loosen up the two brackets holding the door,
you'll probably need someone to support the door also, move it to where you like.

Just keep moving it around til you find where it feels the best.

Taking off the fender would probably be the best idea, and also have a friend hold it up while you screw it in place. I have the same exact problem right now as well but i don't have the time redo it. I did it with the fender on so that caused some problems.

check the bolts holding the door onto the body, make sure they're tight, and also check to see if there's any adjustment. most of the time there's a very small amount even if it's not built in (i.e. oval holes instead of exact fitting round). after a few times of adjusting and re-fitting, you may even need to shim the door. if you shim, adjust, and completely wear out every option, you might simply need a new door. it seem like an expensive solution to a very small problem, but it may be the only way to fix it. sometimes if the door has had any signifiant weight on it or has been hit hard in some direction, the inner structure of the door will just begin to sag. once it's bent even a slight amount there's not much you can do.
