cuting off coolant to the intake manifold
i was reading something on s2ki...well 2 things
1. some guy just put steel 3/8 in ***** in the tubes that run the coolant to block it
2. another installed hondata intake manifold gasket which blocks it that way
both tested the temps and noticed that the manifold was quite cooler, under all temps, but both warned to not do it in winter months ( i dont its a problem in socal)
anyone on here done this mod?...

I did, but I'm boosted (turbo). I'm actually changing my intake manifold gasket back to OEM tomorrow. I have a coolant leak on the gasket.
the hondata gasket is know to lower intake temp levels. supposedly will give you add torque and horse power some where in the rpm band. but never seen on dyno proof on s2000.
race version has thermostat bypass blocked.

i heard you dont gain power....but instead you dont lose power as the engine heats up

I have the hondata gasket and the iats were quite a bit cooler on the obd scanner. I didn't do actual tests but I've kept an eye on it before and after in different situations. It's kind of a bitch to install though but well worth it.
