Default Driver's seat had some "play" in it, (feels loose)

Car is a 2003 4-door LX.

The drivers seat feels like it rocks back and forth (maybe a little up and down). It's nothing real bad, and feels like if you were to measure it, it'd be milimeter or two. But it's annoying the heck out of me.

The rails are bolted firmly to the floor, and it feels like there is something loose in the rails themselves. It happens no matter how far forward or backward the seat is, and the height adjustment **** doesn't fix it.

Has anyone had this problem or have any ideas? Also, the car is a certified pre-owned from Honda, so if I take it in will they do anything for me?

Thanks!

There was a Technical Service Bulletin about this. Take it to your dealership, and mention it. They should fix it for free.

It's not a warranty item, it's a recall item.

Does the seat have a height adjustment? There was a TSB for it. NOT a recall. You are at the mercy of the dealer if they will do a goodwill repair or not if you are out of warranty. The parts are cheap, if you are handy get the TSB and do it yourself. It takes about 30- an hour depending on how you work.

Good luck

True, it's not a recall, per se, but it is something you can "re-create" for any dealership to see. If there is a TSB out on something that can be proven to exist, the dealer is obligated to repair it free of charge. They need to see the problem first hand, though.

I would say your best luck would be with the dealer of purchase.

Well, in my case, it's a certified pre-owned, so I'm still under warranty.

Anyone have any idea how long it'll take Honda to fix?

Actually I should rephrase that...does anyone know if there is a TSB that applies to post 2001 Em2's? They are giving me a problem cause the TSB that I found specifies 2001...

Update...took it to the dealer, they finally acknowledged the problem and the tsb. Then proceeded to tell me that though I bought the car brand new from them and had any service I didn't do myself done there that I would still need to pay $250 to get it done. Or I could by the kit to do it myself for $50. Good times.

dealers exchange with the public is so bad. they need to reconsider to do better business.

Mine does this too but i've got used to it now and hardly ever notice it.

Best thing to do is gun it everywhere, that way you're forced back in your seat (VEEETAAAAAAAAKKKKK!!!!11!!!!111!! ) and it doesn't have chance to rock...

Dammit I hate when you type like that it hurt's my head, almost as much as when you type normally. Can't you get some kind of American-English translator to sit beside you?! Damn.
