Default D(amn) Series...

I searched, but i wasn't sure how to look up the information... Are all sohc d-series motor components interchangeable? And if not, will a d17 fit in a 2000 civic hatchback with stock motor mounts?

A fair amount of D series parts from 92-00 are interchangable.

No, a d17 will not directly fit into any 92-00 chassis.

The D17 is hardly like any 92-00 D series, the block bolt patterns are different, the trannys are cable, the ignition is part of the wiring harness ( basicly theres no Distributer), plus the motors are pretty weak IMO, being VTEC-E. Im also fairly sure the mounts dont line up.
Not worth the efforts for a motor that puts down a solid 17sec 1/4 mile.

Your only direct swap options are any D-series 92-00

so just using the block is a no go... i thought 114 ft/lbs in a d series would be top of the line

Yea, but its still a sluggy engine. Friend of mine has an 03 EX, and its pretty sluggish. Unfortunatly, no, the bottom ends are not interchangable, the bolt patterns are different, to which ive questioned many times as to why honda even named it a "d" series block.
