MOTUL users...

I am a strong believer in MOTUL as I have used them prior and the response is nothing but the best. RBF 600 (brake fluid) is one incredible product.
I am now going to try Motul 300V engine oil. The car does not produce any smoke and will be used for driving on the streets occasioanly (2nd car) and going to the track for lapping events. Highest rev will be approx 8000rpm.

Does anyone here use motul 300V and have any suggestions?

I use Motul 300V on my track car, a K20A(*) in a DC2 ITR.

The car uses <u>zero</u> oil even after a three day weekend with a total of 16 sprint sessions at Summit Point!

And after Friday, Saturday and Sunday, it's only on Sunday that the oil is dirty enough that I can easily find the level on the dip stick.

I started using Motul on the recommendation of James Evans in Baltimore.

 

I also use motul one of the best oils i have tried , The brake fluid and the engine oil is very good. I run the 300V 5w40 in the race car and 5w30 in my street driven TSX. I also use the 600 Brake fluid now its working really good.

I too have used Motul motor oil, and loved it. Engines were super clean inside. I use their brake fluid and their Moto Wash is *the best* cleaner I have ever used on a car. I use it as a degreaser, and to make things like transmission cases look brand new. Once dry, I hit the engine bay with Silicone Clean (smells like Fruit Loops!) and the car looks brand new.

 

we use the 5w30 300V in our road race car and the car takes almost no oil. It also help to reduce friction. When the oil is brand new its also supposed to produce a kind of ''octane booster'' thats why they call this oil ''qualification'' oil. Well thats what the Motul Canada distributor told me.

Don't "Racing" oils have less detergents in them, so they aren't recommended for longer drain intervals on street cars?

 

My friend is the dealer for motul here in the Philippines.

I think the detergent content of the Motul oils are very exceptional. I bought a used B18C typeR engine from Japan. The oil was black as hell. My friend who has a shop even teased me that the engine is junk.

I started with a cheap mineral oil for my first 1000KM. Dynoed at 155WHP stock on a dynojet. compression was at 220psi on all cylinders.

After 1000km, I flushed the mineral oil with Motul engine clean then used the Motul 8100excess. After another 4000km, I dynoed again and I was surprised. Came out 173WHP and 126 torque. Compression on all cylinders was an even 240psi.

THe gain in HP may not be attributed to the oil but I would attest that Motul helped restore the engine to its former glory.

After 15000km, I change the oil every 5000km, the engine oil is very clean after every oil change. No black oils like some of the brands I used.

It would be best to ask your Motul dealer which suits best for your engine. The High RPM 300v suit NA engines well especially if you ave tight clearances. Helps add HP.

For turbocharged engines, a thicker oil is suggested since sometimes the rich fuel mixture will blow through the cylinders into the crankcase which will make the oil viscosity thinner over time.

i used motul 300V on a stock D16 for my EF ran beautifully on track and on street, excellent oil just like any other synthetic 6k miles lifespan and @2k miles its still a clear brown color!!!

thats what it says on redlines website for their racing oils. the less detergents is suppose to help prevent detonation in racing conditions.

A well respected driver friend of mine that recommended Motul 300V for my S2K for HPDE/track days told me this also. I used he 5w-40 for track days and drain it before doing any long term street driving. Also, I can vouch for the fact that my F20C burned absolutely NO oil during a really hot day at the last track day I participated in.

valvoline syn isnt even int he same category man......thats like comparing some standard pasenger tires you can get at pep boys to like some Advan Neovas

 

I've heard the same and what I plan on using when I get my car back, w/i the engine and diff. It's the only fluid that'll quiet the OS Giken clutch chatter.

However, the $300 (11 qts x $26 per quart + filter) per oil change is a little shocking.

Its actually 26 bucks for 2 quarts. As the racing oil comes in 2 liter cans.

After using this stuff you might just find yourself stocking up.

Well if you want to get technical it is actually 2.1L per can. We use Motul 300V in all of our track cars we build. The 300V is not recommended for street use cause the oil can break down if you let the car sit for a little while. It wont break down much but the 300V is 100% synthetic oil and its pure ester. It smells like bubble gum to me. For the street I would recommend using 8100 which is still 100% synthetic but is not pure ester. If you guys need any oil our shop is located in Atlanta GA, and we are a Motul dealer with tons of product on our shelves for delivery.

You will love the stuff. I can go beat the hell out of my car and the oil life and oil pressure are outstanding. I started using the stuff after I blew my motor due to poor lubrication. So I would say yes to 300V.

 

I have a 06 Civic Si that I broke in with mineral then went to Mobil 1 every oil change until this recent change at 26K I decided to use Motul 300v. After putting the oil in all I can say is WOW! The valvetrain is quiter, the car rev's easier, downshifts easier, and just overall feels cleaner. I would recommend this oil anyday. Also just a note, I dont drive my car alot, but when I do I drive it!! Change gears alot, redline, downshift, ect.

if you have extra "Forum" time on your hands, lots of info there but I haven't started to search for direct comparison information b/t the two or more.. . A lot of people seem to like the Amsoil product there. I haven't seen much info on the Motul product.
