Default mad problems..

Ok i know im stupid for doing this, i hooked up my battery the wrong way. I was throwing code 15 for dizzy. Went to the wrecker and grabbed a new igniter and coil and the rest of internal dizzy. It was starting with a decent idle, but when you gave it gas it would sputter and sound like its missing.. The rpm would jump all over. But the code is gone.

So i turned it off and tryied starting again and nutting, then i put in my friends p28 to replace my p30, and she fired right up. Ran decent didnt take it for a ride cause im waiting for my new mount. Unplugged the p28 put in the p30 and started fine. then got shitty again.

So after taking the dizzy out and checking everything over and over, and starting it over and over my timing is hella off now.. She wont fire worth a darn..

Now im wondering what else could i have friend in the process of doing this, When i hooked it up the wrong way i truned my key to the start position. and realized i messed up hard.

I noticed i fried my main fuse which is a 60amp, i swapped that out all new dizzy internal.. But could my car be runnig dec with the sohc vtec internals with the p28?..

I took out my sparkies and cleaned them up still nutting.

Im so stumped on whats going on, i want to be able to drive my baby but made a stupid mistake. Am i missing some thing that could be wrong. What should i do

Here is a video of what it is doing try to listen to it.. *sorry about quality*

Thanks
-Chris

Try and find a friend who has a "Known Good ECU" meaning... out of a running car that has the same ecu, that you can just plug in and see if that works. More then likely you did fry it though. Don't beat yourself up over it, we all do stupid stuff, but only some have ***** enough to admit their mistakes.

Open the ecu up and see if anything is fried. Sometimes you can fix stuff like that. That would be a waste of a rare p30

well my timing jumped and i think i reset it right. Only like 3 teeth.

Im getting spark and i hear my fuel pump prime, and i know the main rely is working. when i pull my plugs there is gas on them, also my pistons look wet from gas. But it wont fire?

unless i miss read , you already confirmed it was the ECU by using your buddys p28 and it started right up and ran fine.

does it have any spark ? does it have fuel ? no spark look into the "dizzy" and confirm that the p28 is not some how ruined from being swapped back and forth, you will be supprised at how easy it is for a jolt of static to kill a ECU or any other electronics for that matter.

So your saying that you put your battery on wrong and it caused this? Just doesnt sound right. When you put the ground cable on the + side of the battery it should've sparked and arched like 4th of July firecrackers. And if you put the + cable on the negative terminal of the battery, nothing should have happened.

It never sparked or anything when you hooked it up??

If the engine ran before this whole ordeal, I don't understand how your timing belt could have jumped. Are you sure you put your distributor on in the right direction when you installed it? The shaft on the dizzy fits on the cam properly one way, Maybe you had the shaft going the wrong way, so flipped 180 degrees, forced it on... and then locked your cam. At which point it jumped, and you were playing with it, probable took off the distributor and put it back on in the right direction..

That's what I think may have happened.. and if so you need to align your engine TDC, align your cam, put your belt back on and hopefully your ECU is still good.

check the rotor in your dist. could have came loose...and your car would still run with lots of backfires..which is what it looks like its doing.

ok but this could be wrong but could it be that you bent some valves when the belt jumped?? it would explain the whole gas and spark thing but idk about the pistons being wet.. just a thought tho
