Default leaking gas, wont crank, 93 cbr600 f2

ok i have a 93 cbr 600 f2 with an f3 motor swap. (i bought it that way). and ill start the story with this
my bike sat for about 6 months. so i took it to the new local bike shop and had my general maintnence done. (oil change. spark plugs changed. chain lubed and tighted, tire pressure. and a once over.) $300
i also told the guys that my brakes were siezing up. but they for some reason never checked those.
they told me that i could use a new chain and sproket. and that my seals on my front shocks were leaking.
they also said if i wanted my brakes looked at that it would be another $140. to clean out the caliper. as that is most likley the problem!

so i took it home. and the next day went out to ride. but the brakes were completley siezed and i couldnt even roll the bike out of the drive way.

so i just gave up.

now two months later. my car broke down. so i decided its time to check out the brakes. so i take apart the caliper. clean it out and put it back together. and lube it up. and it rolled fine.
then i tried to start the bike. and it just cranked and cranked with no turn over.
i looked in the gas tank and saw NO gas! so i laughed and said that i didnt know gas evaporated!
i saw some extra gas we keep for the lawn mower in a one gallon tank. so i put what was inside into the gas tank. it wasnt much. but the bike started right up. so i turned it around in the back yard. and on my way out i had to move the BBQ that was in the way. so i turned off the bike. and went to get my helmet and walet so i could go to the gas station and fill up.
when i went to start the bike again it didnt crank once. but then tried to crank and wouldnt start. i figured i used what little gas i had put in. so i took my gramas van to the gas station to fill up the one gallon JUG. and came back, poured THAT into the tank. and then tried to start it up
NO CRANK , NO NOTHING. i tried over and over. and still got nothing. at this point i was fed up. and put her away.
i came inside to read the manual. and decided to go check my fuses.
but as i looked at the ground. i noticed a drip. i put my finger under it. and it was GASOLINE!
i took a few farings off and saw that i have THREE (3) gas leaks!!!
all dripping at a good pace.
now i dont know enough about motocycles to even know where to try and tighten bolts or hoses to stop these leaks!

but i have a REALLY good feeling that the ***** i took my bike to have fuked with it so i would have to keep comming back. im sure they could tell i dont know much about bikes. and wanted to get more business from me, seeing as they didnt have much of thier own..

so my question is...
1. could these leaks accure over the last two months of just sittin. even though it didnt leak after sitting for 6 months straight before hand?

2. why would the bike start. then after running for a few minutes then turn it off, not even crank??

sorry so much was said. but i figured i might as well say it all.

Yes. Your carbs are gummed up and/or the float valves are sticking open, thats where the gas is most likely coming from. They need to be taken apart, cleaned, and put back together with new seals, float valves and jets. Gas doesnt like to sit, it turns into varnish and clogs everything up.

Battery is dead. Had enough charge to turn it over once, and that was it. Put it on a battery tender.

Do you even have any riding experience?

i've just been screwed in the past. so yea. i have a bad attitude when it comes to crooked mechanics.

i think i can get to the carb. but how do i get to the float valve?
and the batterey had a full charge before i put it into the bike. but ill try to charge it and see if it at least starts up.

i noticed that on the fuel switch on the left side of the bike. that u can either turn on the gas tank, turn off the gas tank, or go to reserve tank. is also leaking.

The piece on the side to cut the fuel on is the petcock. I'd say pull the tank, remove the petcock, clean everything out while your in there and check for rust inside the tank. Then reseal the petcock.

While the tank is off, remove the airbox, then pull the set of 4 carbs. I suggest finding a manual for your bike, which will show you how to remove everything. I have one in .pdf I can try to link if you want it. The manual will also show how to take the carbs apart and put them back. And when you pull the carbs, leave them all attatched to eachother (the manual describes how to break them into singles).

Better off taking it to a shop and have the carbs rebuilt. You can probably take them off yourself and save some labor $$. The float valves stop the float bowls from filling up with gas when they get full - otherwise the fuel goes out of the overflow on each carb.

I dont know if you can rebuild the fuel petcocks, but you can always get another one.
