Ok so i made a 85 mile trip today to my parents house..and its hott outside so the engine has been running a lil bit warm. But i was sitting at a construction stop and went to go and the engine died on me AGAIN!!

I had this problem last week when i made the same trip. BUt today i got it started, i let it sit a minute and when i was starting it...i gave it gas and it started right up, then i held my foot on the gas until traffic started flowing again. BUt when i was waiting for traffic to go, the engine would all of a sudden drop RPM's ALOT and b4 it could die i would give it more gas to stay alive...

So what the heck is my cars sickness??

could it be fuel related or ingnition coil related?

 

check your main relay

 

i had a similar problem like this but it was on a 00 civic and it ended up being the tumbler when u stick your key in......i forgot the diagnosis process on it, but i had the help of an experienced mechanic.....

 

ive tried checking the main relay...would it only fail after 1hr 30-40mins of driving?

 

my hatch was the same way.. i had my main relay checked by my uncle at hooen honda and he fixed it and i never had the problem again

 

could be a short in the distrib?

 

So did you have the relay replaced? how much was it?
