Built bottom end bored out to 81.5 mm, honed
je 11:5.1 pistons
je proseal rings
eagle h beam rods
custom cometic head gasket
polished gsr crank
new oem acura main bearings/rod bearings
b&m fpr
everything else is stock gsr
head is stock currently... thats what I want to change. I guess im looking for advice on the best thing to do to add decent power for this n/a build. My goal is 200 - 225 whp for now.
I was planning on doing a type r (p73) ecu and a je intake manifold, would you all suggest a type r manifold instead as a alternative?? Also head wise would type r cams be better or should I go with skunk2 or brian crower? I'm assuming bigger injectors, cam gears, retainers, springs, and valves. Anything else I should consider? I'm welcome to all opinions/suggestions or input from anyone who has had a similiar build. Thanks!

sounds like a pretty good build but for one thing the type r intake manifold does not bolt up to the gsr head. i would go with an aftermarket cam, springs and retainers and maybe get a port on the head. ull make power without all that stuff but ull make alot more with it. with cams and a port ull be over 200whp with a tune

Yea I was thinking about a port and polish like the type r heads have. Thanks for the input cartune, what aftermarket cams and valve train would you recommend? I'm thinking either skunk 2 or brian crower? It currently has a p28 chipped ecu so I can either get that tuned afterwards or go with s300 hondata. So many options lol. Anyone else have similiar experience or have any advice?
well the hondata s300 is a better program and base for tuning. brian crower is having a sale on cams if u call them and order from them i think its 10% off or 400 for a set. skunk 2 cams arent too bad but with that comp ratio u cant go too big. im using a set of buddy club spec 3's on my itr with a stock bottom end i made 216whp. pretty good considering. just do a lil searching on here to see what people are running. the skunk 2 pro 1's might be pretty good for your setup. i would definitly get a good port if u can afford to.

Thanks, were spending the weekend assembling the motor and dropping it in, im going to build the head in the next month or two. How much do the supertech valvetrain components usually run?

Type r head isn't "ported and polished" by any means. It has very mild work behind the valve head itself... and when I say mild, I mean mild. By no means does it even begin to compare with the work a professional head porter would do.
