ready to dump my old cluster for a new-used one. i know the 97-99 cl will work. and i also heard the lude cluster will work direct plug in play. i'm good with the CL info but i need 2 know if the prelude info is truth or not. i'm lookin to get this 97-01 lude cluster for cheap. let me know & TiA.

100% sure the prelude is not plug and play

there's a DIY on the cabling on hondasociety.

If you're comfortable with electronics and soldering you're good to go

 

you have a link on that DIY muff? , i'll have some down time this week and i wanna do somethin productive.

naw lol, what happened was i just ordered the cluster as a last minute decision over the CL cluster, and after i read around some other sites (accordinglydone, hondasociety) i realized i needed the prelude cluster harness. so i called around to the 2 main junkyards, no luck . i called some other ma & pa junkyards, no luck. i just happened to come home i assume the guy i got the cluster from might just MAYBE have the harness. turns out he did, he sold me the climate & gauge cluster for $12. i wasn't about to let $95 on a cluster go flush.

i plan to make my DIY write up verbatim, not a picture for every wire i plug in / mate, but there will be over a dozen and u can bet that.

i'm going for this look, and luckily the guy who sold me the cluster has the OEM gauges under the aftermarket ones..so keeping in mind that the instruments are delicate, how would i go about taking them (the white faces) off so that i can kick it with the oem ones. i dont want the white faces, will cut them off with baby scissors if needed
