Default Smell of exhaust inside the car is annoying me! (and probably slowly killing me too)

At least I think it's the exhaust... the problem is, the smell gradually builds up when at freeway speeds so it's very difficult to find out where it's coming from. I've had someone rev the motor while feeling for air movement around the exhaust pipe from the headers to the exhaust, but couldn't find any leaks.

Any ideas where to look next? Also, where in the chassis could the fumes be entering? The smell still comes through with the vent on recirc.

i take it that you have the a/c on that is why you can smell the fumes. check the back part by the trunk. if anything you might have to disconnect the entire exhaust and really give it a thorough look over. check and see if your exhaust donuts are still intact.

I can smell it with or without the AC. Sometimes running the AC just makes it harder to detect because of all the air movement.

What area should I be looking at near the trunk? I assume where the muffler bolts on to the pipe? I was thinking something was coming from either under the hood or somewhere in the rear since the smell becomes more noticeable at speed.

I don't have jack stands right now and I'm not getting under the car with just the jack holding it up. Has anyone ever backed an integra on to ramps? Wondering if the front will clear.

you could have an exhaust leak! you don't have a freind with a jack to lend it to you? you can take it to a muffler shop and they normally lift it up for free and try to help you pin point it. that is what i would do if i didn't have access to a jack. even if they charge you like 5 or 10 bucks it is still worth it.

Thats your problem right there, its probably leaking out your 2nd header. Your car should only have 1.
