Default vtec conversion

i have the f22b2, plan to do the v-tec conversion. the question is, will there be any difference between the f22b1 block and the f22b2 block? i can do the complete engine swap if i need to but if they are the same i would rather just do head swap that way i can port it at the same time

I'm not sure but there is a write-up on putting the F22B1 onto the F22B2 block so I'm sure it'll explain any differences if there are any. Check in the Accord FAQ for a link to that write-up.

Edit:
NVM, I'm sorry. Now that I think about it I believe there is only a link on the F22B1 head onto a F22Ax block not the F22B2 block.

well the diffrence is the non v-tech has the computer eternally & the v-tech brings the cumputer externally thats why this engine is the one that is most preferred and its smaller cheaper and better but the cover for the head is the same size

Dude, what are you talking about?

When you say the vtec brings the ECU externally do you mean it's inside the car? All ECU's are.

And I think most people would rather a vtec over a non-vtec.

Do some research, and please think before posting mindlessly.

2fast4urass...I'm sure you are! If you are 2Fast maybe you should ask whoever built your car for you how it works.

WTF is this guy on? I think he may need medical attention. He must be suffering from severe head trauma.

Not everyone want's a SOHC F22B1 VTEC. It's a wopping 15 crank Hp more. The F22B1 vs the F22B2 does give you better fuel economy. If you like running your car in the higher RPM's. Find a DOHC VTEC head if your looking to add VTEC and make it worth your wile....or save your pennies and do a complete VTEC engine swap. Just my 0.02 worth.

Cheers

ya i was wonderin what tthe expletive that meant too...haha but actually i think the f22b1 has a oil squirter which the b2 dose not....any way. after much research i am doing a f22b1 complete motor swap, got it really cheap. ghost it is impossible to find the jdm dohc f22 head. and the h22 and h23 head conversions are not worth the time and money you would need to do a complete swap there... thats just my .02

and yea the b1 was my solution...yaay V-Tec!!!!!

just to add i hope to get more then 15 HP, because i am porting my head, and port match it to a h23 intake manifold

I couldn't agree more. But most people that come on here don't want to hear that. Nice to see you stick with the SOHC VTEC F22B1. Personaly I'm tired of hearing the DOHC H22, H23, F22B head and engine swap stories. Everyone has them and they seem way to easy now. To build the SOHC and get the HP's out of them seems like more of a challenge. There are more of them around now with some good HP numbers. Parts are still pretty expensive but there is more than one company making parts and doing R&D for them.....The more people that use them = more R&D and cheaper parts.....
