anyone know how to replace ac compressor on a 1996 honda accord? if u guys wanna know, its a 2.2 4 cyl. non vtec. thank you

 

NO!!! this has never been done before! you are going to have to swap the whole motor!

 

come on markus... give the guy a break...... ok to take off the a ac compressor you need to undo the two ac lines running to the ac compressor( its a 1 10mm on each one).....then you wanna loosen up the alternator belt by loosening up the alternator a little... then undo the four 10mm bolts that hold the ac compressor to the ac compressor bracket.....done

n when im done is it a must i take it somewhere to get it recharged or cant i just recharge it with the cans from the store?

 

you should have someone do it; however, it can be done on your own.

 

you need a machine to trap the refrigerant, all i can say is if you don't even know how to remove the ac compressor HOw the HELL do you expect to know how to service an AC system LOL, Obviously you do not have manual to begin with and you need to do more homework. AND one last thing it is illegal to repair your AC system @ home as i said earlier unless you have that machine to trap the refrigarant

 

well thanks for ur advice. im done, i evacuated the system at work, replaced the compressor at home and brought it back in for recover and recharge
