My damn floor mat keeps sliding up under my pedals, pain in the *** when drivin' in rush hour traffic and moving them every few shifts

Anyone have any ideas to keep this bitch in place?

drill/cut threw carpet and mat, 2 black zip ties, done. Drill in reverse btw, so it doesn't catch the threads and spin the mat around. Did this about 2 years ago, hasn't been a problem since.

How the hell can you drill in reverse?

Sounds like a good idea, but I wouldn't want holes in the carpet or zip-ties hanging out.

Really I find it interesting that people cant even solve problems on their own anymore. I bet if you actually thought about it for a minute or two you wouldnt have to run to Honda-tech and make a thread about holding your damn floormat in place.

I have put some thought into it, however is that not what forums are for?

I have a problem, I've thought up several solutions, I'm at work and in my spare time I decide to make a post to see what other people have done that have had the same type of problem, becasue MAYBE just MAYBE someone has thinks a little different then I do and has a really good solution that might be better then what I've thought up.

But then again, you knew that didn't you? Heaven forbid someone post on discussion boards, to discuss a problem, lord knows that doesn't make sense at all.

You = Fail

I am thinking that the floormats were recalled for my car before (97 civic) for sliding up under the pedal so the dealers put the hook and gromets in for the customers.

So do that. It works wonderfully.

And if you can't even figure that out, then don't use your damn floor mats.

As long as you have stock floor mats (and it's for '96-'00), go to the dealer. Ask about the TSB for the floormats that go up under your pedals. They should know what you're talking about.

They will cut a slit in the carpet (ask them to only cut ONE, not two! Two will remove a little square from your carpet making your chassis visible). This will allow them to drill a hook into the floor. Then they will punch a hole in your floormat and put a grommet on it.

Honda won't usually just give you the parts for this though. They told me since it goes right into the chassis that they have to do it. Thus my fucked up carpeting due to some noob. Now I want a full new (stock) carpet all because someone can't follow the directions or think first.
