Was getting kinda late at work today as i was in the front leaning rest for my 4th time in one day. With so much spare time down there; I was wondering what i was going to do with my all money when i get back from Iraq.

The question for you all is. What would you do to your EM2/ES1 with $10,000 to spend on it? I'm talking your dream of what your own EM2/ES1 would look like, drive like, and how much horse power it would have.

Go into as much detail you can. Post up your dreams and ambitions that you hope for your EM2.

Dude....if your single, and your car is paid for drop your insurance put it in storage "cause the army will cover damage", and as long as you save save save....you could have like 15-20 grand to put in this beast.

Be prepared when you get back to change the air filter dont set your parking brake cause the drums will fuse together. cover all windows with some kinda screen, cover it and put a tarp under that and bungie cord it down, and for the love of everything take your time in 1. getting the car on the road after a year 2. saving money/planning your build 3. breaking it in when its done dont hot dog the F outa it and survive Iraq just to be killed by a Honda.

As for the dream...its your ride bro, go for what you want, personally a totally built
NA K20 will float my boat Bmw lunga seca blue paint, Rsx powder coated black rims, suspension goodies advan tires, rsx leather seats all round built in radar detector, navi, and the kicker the main feature a NES deck and monitor . Maybe a carputor with emulators and roms. but def nes deck in the dash. I went over and paid my car off, got my mom a new Tc, and a buncha stuff for my crib. em2 got almost no love and i regret it everyday i have to look at it.

my car already makes 600 on c16 so i'd say suade wrapped cage, fresh new paint, blue recaro seats/carpet/headliner/door inserts, new front bumper, bigger front mount and intercooler piping, and 5 lug conversion with 12.19" wilwoods in the front! that would probably be more than 10k though.

Hehe I was getting scuffed up today mostly do to stupid stuff and bad battle buddy's
Guy was 15 min late to formation with a nasty set of ACU's on. Whole platoon payed for it. Then i made a crack on my section leader and he dident like it very much . Last two were me being stupid so over all its mostly my fault.

You all ready been over? i will be leaving very shortly (Early December) How much did you manage to save up over there? I just got E-3 in july so i am hoping for E-4 by march/may next year. My units all dicked up right now so we will see if i can come back with out to many holes in me .

As for my dream with 10k. I would like a k20a2 fully built for high boost. A large turbo (very large ) With a new set of Tein's with pillow ball mounts. Maybe some new rubber. But the beat up rear bumper and the steelies are staying. Gonna be a sleeper.

Why would you want to spend $10K on your EM2? Sell the car and use the $10K to get a nicer car.

First off I wouldnt trade my EM2 in.... I spent 10K on my EM2.. Built K24, Hytech Cams, Hytech Header, 04 SI seats, K-PRO, JIC MAGIC FLT-2 Suspension. Just needs a repaint and a little body work and she will be perfect.

 

I would invest the 10K, sell my Civic for 10-13K, Buy an Acura TL Type-S. Maybe and hopefully that's what I'm going to do in a year and a half when I graduate, get a real job and pay off some student debt.

Don't get me wrong, I love my Civic, it's fun to drive, reliable and fits my (student's) needs and wallet. I just wouldn't spend that type of money on it because after all, it's still a goddamn civic. I actually renounced on upgrading the wheels and suspension, I will just keep the money for my next car

For some people thats the fun of it, putting hard earned combat pay into something you really enjoy. The time you spend doing work on your car and the feeling when you lower the jack and get in and turn that key. Not to mention that after 15 months of working in the heat and some nights cold of the desert its nice to do something for your self.
what ever the car GD civic or not its satisfaction.
You can make a civic just as nice as a tl just not as roomy. besides who really needs bluetooth built into there car? little excessive imo.

 

its a hobby. people do it because they enjoy it. rarely do you gain money back by putting it in a hobby.

plus, my EMII was paid in full the day i drove it off the lot so im driving it until it either blows up or someone destroys it. 03 with 31k miles ftw

Not really. Lets just say he does sell the civic for 10-13k AND have 10k to put down, thats still, at best, 23,000 toward a car STARTING at 38,225. That leaves him with a 15,255 owed on the car IF he got it for the starting price with the bare minimums. But since he said he would invest the 10k, it wouldnt go toward paying for the car, thus leaving him with 25,225 worth of debt at the least. Not to mention the student debt he has to pay off.

If you really wanted to use the money wisely, with 38,225, you could put a small downpayment toward a condo or invest in life insurance.

But hey, you got a plan, stick with it

yea but in this case, I meant investing the 10K while I'm in school for one more year and maybe 6 more months while I'm starting at a job. But anyways I would definitely need to come up with a pretty sizeable amount of money lol so I'm already starting to save up and hopefully the little stock market investment I started to make a year ago will come to fruition in a couple years or so

 

stock markets are always risky IMO and there are much better ways to invest 10k for a better return but thats a whole other topic

 

put the 10K towards a nissan 350z, get a good job and juse the Z as a DD while i k-swap and boost my em2.

em2 for life.

if the em2 is something U really want to build DO IT . One letter "K" thats all u need how far u want to go is all up to u, u can go boost, all motor k20 or k24, or k20/k24 overbore to a 2.7 gut the bi*c* and go full drag, just do it smart no back yard ghetto stuff if you are spending 10g's do your home work and build for what you are going to use it for. Personally right now i like at this very moment the k20 with comptech supercharger i/ ssr headers greedy evo 2 full exhaust on 4pis will make 244hp sleeve it pistons, rods, with some porting and head work will easy make 350 on 4psi and up the boost will make more
but K20boiZ looks like he knows what he is doing too
