i believe the cover you use has more to do with the tranny that you use than anything. I had an Si tranny in my EK and I couldn't use the y7 brace/cover thing....Then again I just went without one for a LONG time LOL. You just have to be very careful in rain and snow if you decide not to put one back on.
anyways, if it is a y8 motor and tranny, you should use the y8 cover....as for the z6 flywheel, they should be the same. I had an a6 block, with a y7 head, aftermarket flywheel that was originally on a y7, and an Si tranny haha. d series are like legos

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by denracho »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">ty.. i checked for part number and 96-98 and 99-00 have different part numbers for the flywheel covers...</TD></TR></TABLE> 96-00 all either have the y7, y5(HX), or y8 depending on trim level. there is no difference between the years.
