Default cruise control not working

my cruise control has not worked since i bought the car and i drive on the highway alot, and i have no idea how to fix it can somebody give ideas on how to fix it.

Pull the main switch which is on your dash beside the steering wheel. It will have an unused opening and five prongs. o - - - - - The first one beside the unused opening is A, then B, C, D, and E. When the switch in the off position you should have continuity between A and B and continuity between D and E. When the switch in the on position you should now have continuity between A, B, AND C and still continuity between D and E. If any of these are not true let me know. If all checks out the brake switch may be the culprit. Let us know back.

i know this sounds stupid but what is continuity is it just another word for resistence ohm's or dcvolts? or basically what do u set the multimeter to to check continuity?

You would set it for the continuity symbol which is to the left of the Temp location on this particular meter. Continuity means the two are connected together just like two ends of a wire. You put positive on one side and negative on the other and electricity will flow through.
