as long as you stay d-series with d-series you can use any tranny.

No hate, we just get confused because the Canadian Si model is our EX. If it was a USDM Si trans (B-series), it would not work on your motor (D-Series).

Ha, I forgot about that, I was about to say "uhhh '98 si??"

@ OP:
Yeah, it'll work fine.

EDIT:
Not only will it work but it'll noticeably improve acceleration.

if it's the 4 speed, then no, if it's a 5 speed, yes you can use that flywheel.

thanks guys both tranny's are 5spds so perfect i can use my flywheel also the speed sensors are different the D15 trans has a 10MM bolt on each side and the 98 trans looks to only have one so i guess i need to go pick up a new sensor

your speed sensor will fit, yours only has one bolt holding it to the tranny as well (the two bolts you see only unbolt the top electronic part of the speed sensor)

no, it has one bolt just like the 98, the speed sensor can be taken apart and those other two bolts hold it together (you don't need to remove them) the bolt you need to remove is down lower and holds the metal part to the transmission
