New pics at on next page!

just got the wheel back after the first coat and gloss. wanted to see what they looked like and what everybody thought. just have the one done so far and i'm coating the back of the wheel black so it's not finished completely. what do you think?

To me, it looks like you're trying too hard to be "JDM" in the color scheme. But, whoever did the painting, did it properly.

PS. "Takata Green" - (refers to the seatbelt manufacturer)

 

yea i couldn't find "takata green" anywhere so we took a takata harness and matched it with a paint prism. closest we could get.

wasn't necessarily going for the jdm look, just wanted something different that looked good.

 

i personally don't really like the colored rim with polished lip theme.

but the paint looks nice

 

thats probably the ugliest wheel ive ever seen.. and ur going to put that on an ssm coupe? oh yea ur so jdm... A for effort on the paint, it looks flawless but definatly... DEFINATLY not my cup of joe... what the f*^K were u thinking..

So... do you like them?

 

I can't see the pictures but from the mental images I'm creating here... "Takata-ish" green with a polished lip. Well personally you would need the right styling on the rest of the car to make it work. Not sure if that would be my choice, but I do kinda have a love/hate relationship with painted/polished lip... I'm undecided.

*Edit* now that I've seen the picture...eeehhhh, it'd be even harder to fit them to a car. I'm more partial to a deep forest green though as well.

he needs something to make him stand out. after all, making close to 600whp makes it hard to get people to race him

Hm, yeah...not a green kinda guy but its a damn good paint job...lets see it on the whip...btw, why do you want to coat the inner surface black?

 

waiting on the rest of the wheels. should have them ready to put on tomorow. i decided not to coat the inner side of the wheels black i'm just keeping them silver. for those who havn't seen the car it's silver with carbon trunk and hood so the green will definately stand out a little bit but ther's no contrasting colors.

i personally like the way it looks and it is my car so i'll do what i want with it.

these are the wheels i drive around town with, i've got 16" j-mags for when i go to the track or plan on doing anything exciting.

and as far as power my 614 horses love me all night long!!

IMO polished lips only look good on wheels that actually have a 'dished lip' on them. On FWD offset wheels (where the lip is flush), polished lips just don't look good.

Is it too late to have them completely done?
