I noticed that my lude is kinda loud, I have an injen CAI and thats all. At 3k RPM my motor just screams. the exhaust is all stock, and im pretty sure the header is stock too, but ill measure later to make sure. is it just me being a noob driver making it loud? I kinda dont want the attention of all the kids at school so i'm trying to quiet it down. it performs like it should i believe, it feels very beefy considering its mileage.

my driving style isnt that aggressive just in case if you think thats the problem, i probably use 30% throttle, but i do let off the clutch pretty quickly (im still not too great at releasing clutch at catchpoint + feed gas on hills)

Im just wondering if theres anything besides exhaust that can make an h22 loud. i searched and the noises they described dont really sound right. ill try to borrow a good quality camera to record a soundclip.

It's pretty irritating on warm-up since my FITV needs to clean, i have idle bounce from 1k-1.5k, and i have this loudness at like 3k.. leaving me with 1.5k to drive w/ its not a ticking, so i dont think its the valves needing adjustment just in case thats what u concluded. thanks guys

 

An intake will make the engine louder, but mostly at high rpms. Is it possible that you have an exhaust leak? I don't think my h22 is that loud at 3k rpm, sounds as quiet as a f22 to me, but when in vtec it definately screams, and I love it.
