Default Slow window motors

I bought a 97 accord recently; all is well. However, the power windows are very weak. At first I thought it was the motors, but then it looked more like the window tracks just needed to be greased. I used white lithium grease to grease the tracks on all four windows. Immediately the problem got better. Not perfect, but better. However, a few days later now, and the problem is now probably twice as bad as it was before.

Does anyone know what I could do to fix this problem?

I just don't understand why it'd get so much worse. It seems like if I added any grease at all, even if not enough, it couldn't get worse. You know? I mean, is that just not really the case?

The 97 accord I just bought has the same problem. The 94accord I had worked fast as well as the 06 civic and 03 ody. I also have.

Yeah, I thought it might be the motor too. However, once I greased the tracks it worked so much better that I concluded that it had to be a restriction on the motor. I'll try cleaning out the tracks and using the silicon grease instead of the lithium grease.

Thanks!

Yeah I'm fairly sure it's silicon grease, one of them (i believe lithium) dries up and doesn't last as long.

Also you may just have a dying motor

Alright, it's official; NEVER USE LITHIUM GREASE ON YOUR WINDOW TRACKS! Gosh, I took off the rubber track to just check it and clean it and found that all the white lithium grease had not only dried up, but I guess reacted with the rubber and made something like an old sticker residue which was more like glue than grease.

Man! Ok, so I haven't used the silicon grease yet. Anyone know where I can buy the stuff? Does it come in a spray can, or like a tube or something?

Shin-Etzu silicone grease is what you want.

Link to where you can buy it (scroll to the bottom):

Or go to your local Honda dealer, take the Honda part number with you: 08798-9013. From the dealer it’ll be $15.85 plus tax for the 100 gram tube which is roughly the size of a small tube of toothpaste.

Alright, I put everything back together having greased the tracks with silicone (spray). Off the bat they work much, much better. I guess only time will tell if it will last. I think next time I'll go with the full fledged jelly grease crap.

Thanks for all the help guys!
