07 CRV STRANGE PROBLEM SHIFTING INTO PARK
I am taking my CRV to the dealership this week, but wanted to get your opinion on this new issue I am having. First of all whenever I put the car in park I always use the e-brake unless I am on a level surface. Well for the past week or so even when parking on a level surface as soon as I shift to park the car will rock forward and backwards. When it rocks forward you can hear some type of metal scraping noise and when it rocks backwards it makes the noise again. Its almost as if the car is acting as if I have slammed the car into park, but thats not the case. I also noticed when I was putting some groceries in the back of the car that when I closed the rear door the car again rocked forward and backward. Its almost as if its completely secure in park. Any ideas on what causes this. FWIW I am now using the e-brake no matter where I am parking the car.
Thanks for the reply. Its ok with the e-brake, its when I am on a level ground and dont use the e-brake the car rocks back and forth as if I am on a hill. It only started doing this recently. E-brake works fine and I have never driven with the e-brake on.
