Default Plate Mounting Trouble

Thanks for any help guys, much appreciated, i just got my plates in the mail the other day for my eg hatch and I realized previous owners F'ed the front and rear plate mounts.

For the front bumper there are factory holes which are too far apart for the plate mounts, why?!?! and custom holes which are just too screwed up and wide open.

and for the rear, which i am more worried about, the two upper mounting threads are broken and i tried opening the interior panel but there is no clearance. and the two bottom mountings for the rear plate are too wide for the plate holes, same situation as the front bumper..

doesn't it mount on the stock holes? did the previous owner drill wrong? also theres some bolt retainer that have to go on there if you didn't already know.

if you want you could just get a Lplate relocator kit for the front.

Just use self-tapping screws and screw it in, your gonna need a plate there all day everday, not like its a show car.

That section of your rear deck lid comes out...you should be able to handle it from there. As for the front, you can drill those "fucked up holes" a bit larger and insert some universal license plate mounting hardware in them. You can find these dark materials at any hardware or parts store.

the section of the rear deck lid does not come out, it is all a whole. maybe you are thinking of eg coupes and sedans but it isn't the same as the hatch.

but thanks for everyones concern, i just drilled new holes and the plates are nicely evened and extra tight.
