Default 98 Accord Transmission Problem

I'm not sure what's going on with my transmission. So for the last week or so transmission fluid has been leaking, but the other day it must have leaked about a quart and a half. I took it to a couple mechanics, and they both gave me two different answers. One said that it's probably one of the seals, and the other said that it is coming from the transmission case, and that the they would have to open up the transmission to fix it, which would kill me labor wise. I'm hoping that it just be the seals, but in the worst case scenerio that it is coming from the tranny, I was thinking that it might be a better idea to just get a used tranny and swap with my current one, to save the trouble of opening it and what not. But the prices for a used transmission are pretty high too, so I was wondering if another transmission from a previous generation accord that would fit my 98 accord 2.3 lx. My transmission was rebuilt at about 106k miles, and now I have 143k. For some reason I have doubt that the people who rebuilt it did a good job. I am looking to sell the car, but I don't think I will get much for it unless I get this fixed. If anyone can help me I would really appreciate it. Thanks

May be a gasket leaking which would be in both cases what you heard from the two mechanics. The case leaking between the gaskets or seal"gasket possibly" leaking. Depending on what seal it is...it may require some labor time. Getting a used transmission is a crapshoot...sure it may not leak but, it can be in pretty bad shape and due for a rebuild...then you will really be in a world of hurt. As for using an earlier model transmission...Not gonna work. Good luck!
