eg suspension ghost problem , HELP!!
since day one the rear end felt unstable. hit a bump it hops to the side...
found out when i went to have it aligned that the passenger trailing arm was bent. i said AHH theres the problem... replaced it.
still felt squirley. i said to myself, well you just need to get rid of those horribly deformed tires!! and get it aligned...bought 2 new tires and a lifetime alignement. good to go.
took it on the freeway... back end is swerveier than ever. and it pulled to the left...
hrm...
took it back had them look at it, told me "trailing arm bushings are out" i said "duh" bought the tool and slipped the new TAB's i had lying around on the car... thought NOW its perfect.
no change... squirley as sh*t
WTF??
i need yalls help on this i cant figure it out.
PARTS
-1.5 yr old tokico springs and matched tokico blue shocks
-brand new Honda trailing arm bushings
-alignment is good (according to firestone)
-4 good tires
-no rear sway or suspension mods besides shock/spring
PROBLEM
-low speeds dont show it but the steering has a mind of its own. on the freeway any slight adjustment in the steering or crosswind results in chaotic movement. in hard corners, the downward momentum seems like it is going to flip the car. in rough spots (cracks in pavement or rock parking lots) i get a dull thud from the front end that coincides with the travel of the shock. it sounds like loose lugs or loose bolts on the shock minus the hard metallic clank one would expect from such a condition.
my next guess is my shocks... im gonna pull off my shock/spring and examine the shocks. i just find it hard to believe that after just over a year using the springs tokico paired with them, the blues would go out.
if anyone has any other ideas besides the shocks as to why the sporatic and instable steering paired with the odd sounds from the front end ... let me hear your ideas...
