Battery Problemo (need info quick, so i can make it to work)
did a search and came up with this link https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1980799
(its the closet to my problem, but i am having doubts that it is)
^^^
**edit wrong link above
problem: no/crank, the car just dies (have to jump car to start)
symptoms:
battery- 11.9 - 12.1 volts cold, safc reads 12.4-14.3 while running
possible solutions: i want to blame the battery, but the guy at autozone told me that it was still ok. i asked him if he can check my alternator, but he didnt know how to use the machine with the alternator still in the car. this sort of made me doubt his battery checking skills. i want to cancel out the alternator since it is making it to about 14.3 volts when the car is running.
questions:
whats the minimal amount of battery voltage before pronouncing it junk?
is it normal for the voltage to fluctuate while driving (12.4-14.3)? << this was happening for the past couple of months without dying like this
right now i got the battery charging overnight at 2 amps
just looking for some opinions on my very simple problem
thanks in advance

you need the battery to be aroud 12.4v to test it properly. And during the load test the battery usually isnt allowed to drop below 11.6v. While the car is running and the engine is spinning faster than 1500 rpms the alternator should be producing a minimum of 13+ volts. Sounds to me like an alternator. Maybe one of the 3 field coils is on its way out.
awesome, just got done doing an overnight charge and read 12.8 volts on my battery cold. 14.7 with a load. i just hope i dont have to jump my car later on today
your battery should always be near 14v, but usally when it goes down is @ night when your using lights/fans etc. Try using another battery for a day or 2 froma friends car.
my battery started pretty good today
after the first run, i had to jump start my car all day
from to and from both jobs, i was in the middle of the street/parking lot with jumper cables.
going to pick up my new battery from sears tomorrow. hopefully its still under warranty.
thanks for the info guys
