hey i just got a 94 CX and then i was driving home and then i noticed this light with an arrow that kept coming on but when i was shifted it would go off then a few more mph it would come on and then turn off when i shifted...anyone else have this shift light? i think i remember reading in the manual that its for non california cars... my car came from colorado years ago... interesting stuff.

can it be reprogramed to like 8800 if someone had a swap? that would be supersleeper

 

My old CRX had one... Not sure what other models do. Not worth your time to try to reprogram it. If you don't know when to shift, you shouldn't be driving a manual...

 

yeah i forgot everyones ear can tell the difference of 9100 rpm and 8800rpm

CX's don't come with a tach.

 

my old VX came from Iowa and it had one of those, it came on at like 2500rpm for like gas saving...

 

my 1994 dx with a vx cluster doesnt have it

My Cx had a shift light and tach but the light annoyed me so i just took a small drill bit and busted it

my 92 cx came with a tach and a dummy light (shift light) im not sure if you can change the activation for that light. i would imagine, however, you could get some sort of rpm activation switch and do it though.

 

Maybe it was replaced. I am 99.9% sure a tachometer was not included for a CX. Can someone do some research? I'm too lazy

my 92 vx has a tach and little arrow shift light
dont know about reprogramming it but anything is possible

 

i think the shift light tells you when to shift for better fuel economy

 

when i was in virginia not too long ago, the guys who i was staying with were into draggin their cars. these are 40-60 year old domestic guys whose full time jobs were car mechanics and factory workers anyway.

my boys uncles 67 camaro was a modified automatic, that a light cam on, and you just pressed a button and it shifted.

i saw him race a built 69 big-block camaro, which had run a 10.4 last time it was on the track. the 67 camaro beat it by 4 cars lengths, i'd never seen anything that fast in my life. The dude who put in the wrench time was a muscle car guru, so everyone there knew it was going to be fast, but not that fast...

if i remember correctly it was in franklin va...cause we drove 45 minutes from hampton.

 

There's a little bulb behind the light.
Ever wonder how so many people get their check engine lights to turn off without fixing the problem??? Covering the light with a tiny piece of black tape also works.

 

my friends 94 JEEP has a shift-light! its this little yellow arrow that pops up on the left...its ghetto! JEEP= =

 

Seems to me that everyone has their own opinion of what came in each model.

 

the cx's in 1992 came with a shift light and tach. They also came with a full si wiring harness. Then it changed in 1993.

My 92 cx came with a shift light, no tach tho.

 

All of my 3 CX's don't have tach.

 

my 95 cx cluster didnt came w/ a tach but it has a little arrow that lights up green to indicate when to shift.

94 VX with shift light AND tach..

 

my old 93 VX had a tach and a shift light. it was a cali car though.

 

Mine has one but it's programmed to go off around 3K so I don't really look at it.
