Default bypass vss code?

Wondering if I can bypass the vss signal on my ed6 ecu. It keeps throwing the cel for it everytime I decellerate.
I have no idea what the problem is - the speedo works fine and is accurate.

If I cant bypass it, where does the ecu pin connect to? The cluster?
The wiring harness is hacked to ****, perhaps its wire is broken somewhere - I could just rewire it from ecu to where ever...

Im giving up the car soon, to my 1/2sister...just trying to get something taken care of so she doesnt freak out everytime it turns on for nothing important.

From further down::

How many wires are in the connector, 2 or 3 (or 4)? And which of those would be the signal wire for the ecu?</TD></TR></TABLE>

your wireing must have been put in the wrong place by the ecu...samething happen to mines...it was in the wrong place and check engine comes on everytime i decellerate...i'll let you know where it goes when i get home cause i'm at work now.

That would be awesome, thanks

I was looking at a pinout and all of about zero of the harness colors line up for anything. The car's a disaster.
(the o2 sensor was rewired with something with alligator clips and scotch tape to hold it on)
Anyway, I think the vss is pin B16

Right but where does it lead to?
Does it connect directly to the cluster? Is the wire there the same color?
If I cant bypass it, I want to try just running a new wire, directly from the ecu to <u>&lt;blank&gt;</u>

If you have a 90-91 civic the vss is in the cluster. Check to see if your speedometer is working.

Ok then check the plug by the speedo. The connector may be fried.

I had this problem in my eg, basically from what I recall you have 3 wires on the trans. Power source, a ground, and the one that changes when the wheel is turned.

First off, download the helms and follow the instructions on how to test the vss, basically jack the wheel up and spin it while reading voltage. The vss can be messed up causing a inaccurate reading.

Second, check out the vss clip itself. A lot of the times these clips become dirty over time because of the location, make sure its clean and that nothing else is built in side.

Third, if that still does not fix it, I would start looking into the main wiring from the vss itself and the ecu. If the cluster works, that would eliminate the wiring from the cluster to the ecu, which basically is one main wire.

A bad cluster won't even send off the vss code, its the vss wiring to the ecu that will. Hopefully that helps you out. As for the wiring diagram, best bet is to either download it from some where ( but all the helms I see for the crx leaves these diagrams out ) or go to autozone and pick up there book. Yes, its not as good as the helms but it does have full wiring diagrams in the back.

Im just going to tear the dash apart and trace the wire manually...I cant beleive no one owns a manual with a wiring diagram for this (that or no one will take the 30seconds to look it up).
I am against downloading manuals online, because theyre worth the money but Im not going to buy one for a car Im not keeping.
pain in the *** but I guess I have no choice

Manual is like 7 bucks, and no sense of tracing a wire, just run a hard wire, its quicker.

To what? Thats my question
Where does the b16 pin wire go?? I know its the speed sensor wire, that doesnt help me.
Where does it end, exactly? At the cluster? Where?
I found an image that says "to vss" but thats no help either.

My b16 wire is not yellow/red, its white/red

Its a cable driven speedo so it cant have any wiring to the trans except backup lights

Like I said, its in the manual. If you don't want to buy it keep searching h-t . If I come across my manual I'll look it up
