F20 swap ?
it's obd2. your car is obd1, you have to convert. so the majority of the crowd will say just stick with the h22. but if u really want it, get it. http://www.rywire.com
what about the H22 trany? i've heard some people say the trany is kinda weak on them? i think it's all the way u drive it tho.
or would it just b easier to build up my F22b1? i'm really just looking to get to about 200HP

I think for the same amount of price, you could get 200HP. But I think reaching the 200HP goal might be easier on the H22. As "oem-certified-accord" said, you car is OBD1 and there is lots of OBD1 H22 engines. So it'll be easier. Some know how around the engine is best to have when doing this.
F22B1 is ok. I have one in my 96 EX. I'm not too big of a fan, but with the limited aftermarket parts for the engine, reaching 200HP is kinda hard. Unless TURBO!

yeah i thought about rods and pistons, and some other things along with that, then turbo. don't rods and pistons lower your compression ratio? mine right now is 8.8:1, and lowering my ratio will not give me too much horse, lower it i think..... but then when i turbo, i can boost alot more?
am i right?
am i right?
No dude...
you have the choice to buy High Compression Pistons,
or Low Compression Pistons...Are you sure you want 200hp?
do you even understand what that means?

boost the F i'm buying another f22b2 within the next week or so, i have 164,1xx on the one in my car now. but i plan to boost the new F sometime around early 08.
i'm taking out the one i have now and replacing the gaskets and seals because nothing is wrong with it. i will have it in case somethin with the new new fails. the newbie f22b2 is quoted between 40k-60k so i should be good on the boost there. but,H or F, it's a toss up IMO. but leave the 2.0 alone unless you're a 96-97.

first off, f20 is a 2.0, your stock engine is 2.2 liter. you'd actually lose hp in that swap.
2nd, h22 trannys have a different gear ratio, so you'd be quicker off the line, there is no hp gain, but you'd loose your gas mileage.
3rd, if you lower your compression too much your car is going to run like ***. For turbo, a low compression is good, but if its too low you won't be able to run without making boost. ( think volvo, if a boost pipe comes off or there is a leak = a stalled out car.) The f22 block is a good block to turbo as it already is sleeved. You would want to upgrade your internals though, so you don't have to worry about broken rods.
There is a lot more to turbo'ing that just slapping everything on.
Also, is your car auto or manual, as an auto can barely hold 220whp, and that might be pushing it.

okay, lets put it this way. IF the f20 is so much better, why don't people swap it.
It depends on if its sohc or dohc too, seeing the sohc is only 145 hp.
oh and the f22 is only 145 for an ex too.

you have options dood....
a) 50 shot of nitrous....fubn fun fun.....
b) H22.....minor mods will get you close to 200 ish..I had 201 whp and 165 ponds of tq with 3'' exhaust, a modified CD sports 4-2-1 header NGK wires, a CAI, and a P28 chipped with crome and about 45 minutes of dyno tuning....
c) READ and boost your motor..you might be throwing a steak away for a hamburger if you get what Im saying???

I would simply just boost your stock motor. The f22's just love boost. For the price of an entire h22 swap you could have a motor capable of producing 300+/-hp with the motor being built right. But with a stock motor id say it would be around the 240-230 range.
What i was planning on doing was to boost my car and swap on a h23 dohc head on to my f22b2 block. Just to get a tad bit more flow to accomidate the boost. And also since the f-series blocks dont have to be re-sleeved to accept forged pistions id be saving hundreds of dollars that would be spent on re-sleeving the h series block.
All in all, a turbo would be the best bang for the buck, compared to a full h22 swap.
In my opinion..

im assuming hes talking about the sohc. so yeah basically, hes either going to lose hp or be at the same level.

uh come in a little late for that? I looked it up already.
Assuming he'd be using a sohc because he didn't state otherwise, why the hell would it be worth the swap for the same hp AND unsleeved block. Hmm..

I mostly agree with this dood except fo the whole head swap thing...you really don't need to do it...I'v reasearched it and it seems to be more trouble than worth getting in to...but a boosted f is definetly the best bang for the buck...but as it seems in the OP post he doesn't really know that much...so AGAIN read read read......and this thread is getting dumber by the post so Im done
ohhh thanks for the picture of yourself but i didn't ask for that
seeing you can't provide any useful info, you should stop posting, because i can't tell if you ignorant about there being a sohc or what. but you obviously can provide facts.

probably that rarely one comes out to inquire about swapping an f20A (i assume you're talking 4th Gen Accord Motoring) into a 5th Gen. f20 is always if not the majority of the time considered to end with the letter "B" as in euro-R type R motor this that and the other. 198 or 189, 200 or 220. i'm sorry but i'm not taking anybody's word on the HP unless i see the have one in the car and have the dynosaur sheets from it. but yes as i said, nobody wants to inquire about a 4th gen motor into a 5th gen car
not slammin u brother man, just layin it all out on the table.
