Default D16....... are all the parts interchangeable? THIS IS WHY.........>>>>>

If i can get a newer block like ... 97+ civic ex motor can I just take of the block and putt it on to my 1991 civic si head? i don't want VTEC or to make it difficult...., just want a more reliable yet stronger car.

-WILL THIS WORK?
-CAN I USE MY SI TRANNY & CLUTCH?
-wHAT WILL MY COMPRESSION RATIO BE?

ok, I just recently helped a friend do somthing close to this. He has a 89 civic Si, and we put a 96 D16Y7 (CX) longblock in his car w/his 89 Si tranny & complete clutch components. The swap went easy. Everything worked out just fine.

I'm not 100% sure if the 96+ non-vtec head will bolt up to a 88-91 D16A6 block, but I get this feeling it will work since 92-95 vtec & non-vtec heads bolt up to an A6 block.
