Bolt into Tranny, is it fixable? 2000 B16
Well big mistake I did, when I dropped a 10mm bolt while I was tighten it into the speed sensor hole. I thought it would drop to the oil pan but nothing yet.. I tried retrieving it by using a magnet, didn't work. So I decided to drive the car, went to do my exhaust piping when I noticed 2 holes, one right under about the size of a peak-chick bean, near the shift linkage and the 2nd one about 2"long and 6 cm wide.... Tranny doesn't have any oil due to the holes. I guess the inner casing it's gone... but is there anyway I can still fix the tranny, its a 2000 b16 hydrolic tranny.
thanks...
thanks...
Wow, that sucks. If the trans. is okay, you simply need the damaged casing. The transmission should come with two casings, probably about $250 per side. Now you're ripping the trans. apart and dumping $500 and hoping there is no additional damage.
yeah man, luckly I have another tranny. I'm hoping to save this one before it's too late.. 2nd gear sounds really bad metal w/ metal griding and no oil not a good mix...

Save if before its too late??
It was probably too late as soon as you thought it was smart to drive the damn thing
Why would bolts dropped into the vss hold end up in the engine's oil pan??
Ugh big time f*ck up here. Pull the transmission, split it open, assess the damage, punch yourself in the head a few times, and swap trannies.
Lot of work, but if you did that in the first place, youd still be able to use it.
